If you want to know more about the excavations and work at Hierakonpolis, we have two options available for you online.
We produce an annual newsletter Nekhen News that gives a summary of the previous year's work, as well as articles by members of the team and visiting scholars who are looking at specific items that have been found at the site. There are also articles in Nekhen News that give a flavour of what it's like to work at the site. The latest copies of Nekhen News are not available online (but if you are a 'Friend of Nekhen' you will automatically receive a copy anyway), but we do have a freely accessible archive of previous Nekhen News editions starting from our very first type-written issue, we produced in 1985, through to the more recent glossy issues.
For those wishing to find out more about the Predynastic period in Egypt, especially in connection with Hierakonpolis, we also have a couple of bibliographies which contain general works and more detailed academic books and papers. Both of these bibliographies can be accessed here
